Apply nowWe’re looking for an edit assistant to join our busy Film and Animation team here at RY. This is a great opportunity to join our award-winning independent creative agency in the heart of Shoreditch. We create standout film and animation projects for some of the worlds’ largest brands and organisations, across a range of audiences and formats. The edit assistant works collaboratively with producers, animators, post-production facilities and freelancers to support our post-production and archiving workflow. They ensure that the in-house edit suites, archive and deliverables are of the highest standard expected by both the team and our clients. As part of our market-leading film and animation team, the edit assistant will also work on edits for smaller/internal projects, and collaborate with editors on larger ones.

Responsibilities will include:
Technical edit support:
- Prepping the edit suite and rushes for remote edits, prepping and logging shoot and edit drives, keeping up to date with technologies and software, and overseeing the maintenance of post-production equipment
File delivery and encoding:
- Responsible for exporting cuts for upload, creating and quality checking digital file deliverables for clients, and creating master files
Editing:
- You’ll show editing flare, and be able to take on internal and marketing edits for RY, and manage small projects or changes to larger client projects
Archiving:
- Working with producers, animators, freelancers and studios to ensure projects are washed up, safely backed up, archived and logged through our archiving system
Library:
- You’ll be responsible for logging all media in and out of RY
Requirements:
- Good knowledge of tapeless workflows and file formats
- A thorough knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro CC editing software, including captioning and subtitling tools, knowledge of Avid would be an advantage.
- A good understanding of encoding using Adobe Media Encoder, Quicktime Pro. Other encoding software is an advantage.
- An understanding of Adobe AfterEffects.
- The ability to troubleshoot and provide support for technical issues.
- An exceptional eye for detail and never lets average work through to clients.
- Shows a passion for film
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator etc) would also be beneficial
