Addressing Danone’s impact on nature and people
Danone has been a household name for generations. But few of us appreciate the profound impact of Danone’s products, services and commitments to the health of the nation. Following the launch of the global Danone Impact Journey – a strategy to focus efforts and create a positive impact on health, people and communities, and the planet – the time was right to publish compelling communications on the impact Danone has in the UK & Ireland. Not only to tell the successes of a 100+ year legacy of leading on health for consumers and patients, but also to share the ambitions, progress and challenges in addressing Danone’s wider impacts.
Spotlighting context and amplifying external perspectives
To ensure Danone UK & Ireland’s first foray into sustainability reporting was credible, balance was vital. For this reason, we put particular focus on explaining the “why?” behind each goal within the Impact Journey. The report clearly outlines both negative impacts which must be mitigated, as well as positive impacts that Danone is leveraging. Further to this, external voices provide the national context within which these impacts occur. Three spotlights in the report create a change of pace, allowing Danone to tackle more nuanced topics in detail, such as how safety and quality considerations must be combined with circular, low carbon principles to improve the sustainability of packaging.
Charting the journey and articulating the destination
Danone UK & Ireland’s first impact report is concise on content and compelling in design. The journey aspect of Danone’s approach to sustainability is highlighted through dynamic copywriting and bolstered by a travel scrapbook inspired design. This culminates in an inaugural report which tells a joined-up story of progress to date, and the destination ahead, for Danone’s Impact Journey in the UK & Ireland.
