We created belief…
in ASML, their people and the impact of pushing technology to new limits
People changing the world
A world leader in the manufacture of lithography equipment used to create microchips, ASML’s innovations are constantly reducing chip size, but increasing chip capability to solve some of humanity’s biggest challenges.
The 2022 annual report theme ‘Small patterns. Big impact’ was retained for 2023, but the challenge this year was to inject more of a human feel to the report.
Strong leadership, and depth of talent
Collaborative ‘inspiration sessions’ identified the people theme for the 2023 Report, as well as areas to refine and improve. We featured the company’s strong leadership to explain how this, combined with their innovation, helped drive performance and highlight how sustainability is fundamental to the business strategy. And we shone a light on ASML’s greatest asset; its people, by connecting them with the theme and focussing on the small role individuals play, but which creates a collective big impact for the business, stakeholders and society.
Refinements to both the strategy and the business model more clearly articulated the concept of ‘holistic lithography’ and how the elements of the strategy aligned. The design reflects the unique nature of business and how their technology and depth of talent drives their success.
Frictionless process
Once again, RY lead the Workiva production process through our established ‘frictionless’ process – ensuring maximum efficiency, flexibility and ongoing support for the ASML team. And once again, delighting the client with our partnership approach.
After the huge strides forward for the PDF in year one, another key focus for our second year of collaboration was to improve the online highlights – we worked closely with ASML’s communications and digital teams and provided user experience improvements, tweaked the designs and supplied all copywritten content – providing everything ASML’s build team required to fit into the existing template to deliver an improved experience.
Building on an award winning report
The 2023 Report built on the award-winning 2022 Report (Henri Sijthoff Prize and Corporate & Financial Awards) to better articulate how their people make ASML unique. Feedback from ASML confirms that this year’s Report made employees feel proud and more involved, and a key achievement this year was how the online version was developed to tell a much stronger story through a more user-friendly experience.
